About Ice Dyeing

About Ice Dyeing

For our Fall Winter Collection, we used an ice dyeing technique to achieve the Nebula print on both the Selene Nebular Dress and The shopper tote

This is a fun technique that could be easily done at home!
All you need is a garment to dye, some soda ash (which helps the fibers of the garment hold the dye throughout washes) and some powdered dye. We use Procion brand because it is low impact and eco-friendly but you can use any powder dye you want. A rack and a tub about the same size!
Ice Dyeing
The steps we followed were posted by Jojotastic they are really easy to follow!

For our print we mixed to powder colors together in a bowl and then sprinkled them on top of the ice. Our ice didn't take 24 hours to melt but we let them sit for a little longer after the ice dyed.

This could be really cool for table cloths and napkins! Also if you have any white tops that you've stained or with yellow armpits, I definitely recommend giving this a try, you'll extent the life of your garments and it'll be like having something new!
