Fashion Revolution week was sparked by the horrendous loss of life with the fall of the Rana Plaza in 2013. This was an 8 story building filled with garment workers under terrible conditions. Workers had told their employers that the building was cracking and looked unsafe, but were forced to work anyways. And on April 24th, the building collapsed and killed just over ONE THOUSAND people. Those people who make your clothes for very little money died sewing your clothing.
This lead Orsola De Castro to take action and start a revolution.. A Fashion Revolution....

With Fashion Revolution Week approaching (April 20th-26th) I wanted to put together a set of questions so that you can easily get to know Lights of All, or even use them to ask other sustainable brands to get to know them and their practices better.

Lights of All is an all vegan, eco-friendly and ethical clothing label based in Toronto. Everything is made in house, by me, in small batches while using eco-conscious materials.

This season is our third time making the Antoinette Dress!
It became a. bestseller in it's first season and you have been loving it ever since. This year, we made it in two colors and in a new fabric.
The first color is a soft blue. I fell in love with this color when I saw it because it reminded me of forget-me-nots. These sweet little flowers grow all over my parent's property in the spring and I would always pick them with my mum and make little bouquets.
The second color is this gorgeous dessert orange....
The Field Dress has gone through the longest journey of any SS20 style!
It started off as a prototype as a Maxi Dress, however the fabric I used for the prototype was too heavy and literally pulled the dress down so it was not possible to use for the real dress.
I also realized that the Maxi length was not ideal for everyone since we are all different heights, and because the dress has a gathered detail at the hem, it would not be easy to shorten and lengthen if needed. So I shortened the style and found...
