Fall 2020 News

Fall 2020 News

Hello hello!

With the beginning of a new season, I wanted to take some time and talk about a few things that are happening with Lights of All.

The first and most obvious is that our FW2020 collection, papillon de nuit is out!
If you haven't checked it out yet, click here!

The most exciting news I have to share though is that I am working on adding two new sizes to the collection, XL and XXL. This is part of my larger goal of being more size inclusive and it's really just the beginning. I put together an IGTV video on instagram explaining the reason it has taken so long, but in case you haven't seen it, I will also explain here!

Long story short, because of my finances and lack of sales in the early years of LOA, I was not able to invest in making more than the bare minimum in sizing because I was barely even selling what I had. I also was never trained in grading larger sizes. If you are unfamiliar, grading is the term used for sizing garments. All garments start off as patterns, its the shapes in which you cut the fabric to make pieces to sew together to make a garment. Well, you start with a basic size and then you work on the style and once you have a style done you take that size and make other sizes out of it, that's called grading.

However, this past summer I received so much support in you all, wanting to shop local or making the change to buy sustainable clothing. I freed up a lot of inventory and investment and felt like it was time I could take a step forward with my brand. I am lacking knowledge in how to grade properly when it comes to larger sizes. But I figured I would invest time in teaching myself through trial and error and finding tools online. With the generous help from Jen,  who is my fit model and trying the clothing on as I go to make sure the fit and sizing is good, I am working on making the fall collection into XL and XXL. To launch sometime in November!

My goal is that, for the Spring Summer 2020 collection I will have sizes XL, XXL and XXXL and hopefully be able to expand each season. I haven't forgotten about you XS and XXS, I have just gotten more inquiries for larger sizes so that is my focus as of right now, but I will be looking into XS XXS in the future as well. Stay tuned.
