LOA eats: Sushi Momo

Posted by Katia Hagen on

I discovered Sushi Momo about a year ago and it instantly became one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Montreal! Part of why I love it so much is because it used to be a non-vegan restaurant but they changed!! Progress people - it happens! :)I grew up eating sushi - its my favourite type of food, but since going vegan I was always disappointed with vegan options - avocado roll, cucumber roll... SO boring. Sushi Momo is anything but boring, they make such beautiful and innovative rolls that are a full palette of flavors and textures. My favorite apetizers are...

LOA eats: Ashley's Health Bar

I've been to Ashey's a few times. It's the newest vegan/vegetarian addition to the NDG area (where I live). Since it's just down the street to where I live, it's an easy place to go!My mum and I shared the 'Avo'cuddle toast' as an appetizer. It was great, missing some salt and pepper but that's not a hard thing to add.I've tried almost every appetizer! The 'Karmic fries' taste really good but are very very small and I personally don't find them worth the 7$. The chili was one of the first things I tried and I found it missing...

Melanie is wearing the Selene DressCopper Branch is a great fast food vegan restaurant. They've multiplied so much in Montreal within the last two years that no matter where I am, if I'm hungry and in a hurry, there's one nearby! I've tried many meals of their menu and here are my favorites:The General Copper Bowl - its like their version of general tao, with some red cabbage and broccoli. YUM My grandma who is very weary of my vegan diet LOVES it so much when I went to visit her once she specifically asked for it again. The Beet Burger...

LOA eats: Lov

Fo this weeks edition of LOA eats, I ate at Lov restaurant's De la Montagne location. It was not my first time going, I've been to both locations multiple times, so I've tried a lot of their menu. I'll start by throwing this out there, you either love Lov or you hate it. I'm in the love category, my boyfriend is in the hate category. Here's why: it's a very instagram/'being seen' type of place. I personally love it when a restaurant has beautiful decor and a cool vibe, to me it shows that they've put effort into the complete experience. As...

LOA eats: Invitation V

Posted by Katia Hagen on

Hey! I'm starting a little vegan restaurant review series! This past weekend my boyfriend and I ate at Invitation V, a lovely creative vegan restaurant in the old port of Montreal. It's really spacious and beautiful place, the service was excellent and the waiters knew the menu and food well. We started with the quesadilla, bruschetta and soup of the day for appetizers. I didn't take photos of them because I was SO hungry and couldn't wait one more second. The quesadillas were so amazing I didn't even share them with my boyfriend :) He had the soup of the...
